I want to start compressing my own minerals, need to know what to do.

Assuming you use this spreadsheet, work out how much of each material you'll need to make the capital components needed to build the SC, then add batches of stuff into the fields on the bottom left of the spreadsheet until you have enough of each mineral (you may have to play around with the number of batches of each type unless you have a maths background).

Assume that each batch will take about 2 days (or work it out based on this calculator), divide by the number of production lines you have available, and there's your answer.
