I've done a lot of probing for grav sites and I've found a few asteroid sites, however, I havn't seen any ladar for gas clouds.
Is it because I stay in .5 and higher, do they not exist in high sec?

I have found a number of gas clouds in high sec. They do exist.
The two of the forms that a highsec gas cloud can be found are:
- Calabash Nebula (2 clouds of Celadon Mykoserocin - total of 1000 units) The most common form of the gas cloud. Assume you will find this if you find one.
- Glass nebula (3 clouds of Celadon Mykoserocin - total of 3000 units)
That said, 1000 units of going to be worth at most 5M isk (current high buy price as of this writing is 5100 for 10k units in Amarr, then 3600 per unit in Jita. It drops off rapidly fo 1k isk out in Solitude) for (assuming harvesting skill level of 3) for 1000 / 2 (cycles/min) / 3 (harvesters/cycle)... about 3 hours work. Adjust up or down depending on your skill level.
