Subjective as phrased. Consider editing/reworking the question so as to eliminate the subjective quality, i.e. “What are the pros and cons of each racial cruiser as used for both solo pvp and pvp generally?”

IMO the Thorax and Rupture are the two most popular/heavy hitting cruisers out there. Just a matter of what set of Gunnery skills you prefer over the other.

I see a lot of solo Thorax's these days using Vespa EC-600's for support and it is a pretty nasty combination if you're by yourself on the other side. The Rupture doesn't have the drone bandwidth the Thorax has but you can opt for Warrior II's and have a choice between 220mm AC armor or 425mm AC shield fits.

The Vexor is also very good. Thre trimarks and a 1600mm plate give it a huge buffer. Slap on some small arty (or whatever but I prefer projectiles on a Vexor as you cannot fit medium hybrids, projectiles offer a better damage type choice and they're cap free) and let your drones go to town.

Almost every cruiser in-game can make an excellent pvp candidate with specific tactics and fitting. Look at the t2 versions of the same cruisers. What do they excel at? In most cases, the t1 brethren can fulfill the same role with reduced efficiency. Personally, I fly all racial cruisers on a regular basis; it’s fun to mix it up. Here’s some random examples of fun solo pvp contexts.

Want to be a fast gate runner that can chew up inty’s? Fit a stabber like a vaga and watch it go. Want something that can take a punch to the face and make quick work of other cruisers? Fly a rupture or thorax with webs. Try out a vexor or arbitrator with plates, lots of ewar and neuts.

Want to fly falcon? Start out with a blackbird, although it’s rather hard to kill anything with one. But you can fit a mean shield tank and tackle if you forego ecm; making you terrific as bait. Mallers are almost always bait, but you can use that to your advantage and go for all gank.

Your carebears are being beset upon by dramiels and its brethren? Grab something with dual (or triple webs) and a scram. Both a caracal and celestis with 5 med slots can do this. Or even a blackbird (may need support dps) or arby (2x webs, scram, ab, neuts, plate).

I still perfer the Arby.for that matter. Fit it like a baby curse and watch it go all day. Ive heard of people using them to can flip for a few months before they lost it. Its also a unique cruiser with such a large drone bay for an amarr boat

what does it mean: “using them to can flip for a few months”…?

“can flipping” is the act of stealing the contents of another players container – usually the other player is busy in a asteroid belt filling the can with ore when you come along: open the can and loot it – thus saving the time to mine it and possibly even getting a legal 1v1 pvp fight (as concord will not come for either the flipper or the defender)
