Best way for setting up a reliable source of income?

Asked by

I am really new to the game, relatively 1 week as of this posting. I am interested in setting up a reliable source of income without a lot of tedious interactions. Basically I want to set a goal. As for a new player in a corporation that has some good people, what would be required of me in terms of basic skills and cost to create a mining POS? I do know that a reliable location for the POS is needed as well as a decision for ice or moon mining, or some other type if there is one. Thanks for any info you provide.

When starting, run missions and salvage everything. Keep or sell the meta 4 stuff, melt down (reprocess) all the crap, use the minerals to produce stuff that sells well ( I make salvagers, tractor beams, cruise an torpedoes all of which move quickly in the right areas.

Moon mining can only be done in systems with sec below 0.4 I believe. If your can find a good system, set up a POS in low sec, defend and fuel it, then it is a very nice income earner. You'll need anchoring skill, POS gunnery would be useful and covert ops for moving around in system undetected. Last time I checked, running a medium POS took about 22M ISk a week (in fuel), but this may have increased due to the cost of some POS fuels rising with the introduction of planetary interaction. Try and find a spreadsheet on the web that calculates fuel for you quickly and easily.

If you want low-hassle isk, then join the queue.

Your best option for a starting character is planetary production.

After that, a research character could do blueprint copying and datacore harvesting.

An industrial character could set up buy orders and mass produce items that they know will sell well.

A trade character could just set lots of buy and sell orders and sit back and relax.

Moon mining is an option, but keeping a POS fuelled might not be as low-impact as you'd prefer.

you should not worry about income, but instead focus on what in EVE gives you a prolonged satisfaction, in whatever profession you will find joy, you will find means of income.

There are no real "income for free" solution in EVE, but the as IRL he who has money and experience can make more money, so it will come to you over time, now just focus on having fun.

My 5 cents...

Don't worry about getting into running a POS right off the get go.

1 - If you want to set up a POS your self you need to be in your own corp. 2 - You must find the perfect area for you that you want to setup a POS. 3 - Once you found the area you want to setup in you must do a lot and I meen a lot of missions in order to get the standings needed towards the faction area that you want to put 1 up in. 4 - I really recommend to wait till you can mine Ice and harvest PI stuff to supply most the POS fuel. 5 - Mining ore can be a good source of income when your starting off since you don't need a lot of skills to fly mining barges compared to training to do mission running that you need shield skills, skills you use cretin weapons and such. You can make around 192,000 ISK every 3 mins mining in a Covetor (rough math)

There is no true easy ways to make ISK fast
