can a command ship use more than one of the same link mod?

Can a command ship use more than one of the same link mods for example can a damnaton use more then one of the link that increase the fleets armor resists?

No it can not. You may be able to fit them, but you will certainly only be able to activate ONE of them.

The resist mods suffers from stacking penalties anyway...

correct. only one of the same named command module may be run at one time.

You can fit them, as far as i know, but you won't receive / give better bonus by equipping two identical Link Modules.

It would simply not work in the above scenario. However in terms of stacking penalties, the module’s bonus would be watered down as if it were another membrane fitted to a virtual low slot assuming other ships in the gang had modules which increaed their armour resists fitted.

The above scenario wouldn’t work. In terms of stacking penalties, the module does suffer from them when used in conjunction with other modules fitted on your gang mates ships that increase their armour resists. If they all have two adaptive membranes, it would stack as if it was a third adaptive membrane (a loose example).
