You can buy vanity items (Apparel) with Aurum which can be sold for ISK which could then be used to buy PLEX.

PLEX can be converted to Aurum (1 PLEX = 3500 Aurum)
Aurum can be used to buy clothing items and other appeal items from the NeX store (CCP has talked about custom skins for your ships and so on)
These items can then by sold for ISK on the market like any other item in EVE, and the pries are of course player controlled since they aren’t NPC seeded.
You can then with the ISK you gain from selling these items hopefully buy new PLEXes, if you so choose.
To answer your question simply:
No you can not transfer Aurum over to another form of currency.
You can only buy items with it, that you can then try to sell for ISK on the market.
