Can someone explain how Tracking Computer scripts work?

I keep seeing people talking about using scripts in their tracking computers on places like battleclinic and here, however I have no idea how they work or even what they are.

Do you have to actually write a script and then put that script into the tracking computer? Or is their more of a UI with options to choose.

Thanks for the info, this seems to be something that isn’t covered very much in EVE guides(That or I just haven’t been able to find it in my searches).

The tracking computer will give bonuses unscripted, but a scripted tracking computer will give double the bonus to that particular attribute.

ie a T2 tracking computer increases falloff and tracking (how quickly turrets can turn) by 15% per attribute. It also increases Optimal range by 7.5%.

The tracking speed script means that the tracking computer now gives a 30% bonus to to tracking speed, and no bonus to the other attributes.

The optimal range script gives a 30% bonus to falloff and a 15% bonus to optimal range.

All tracking computers increase tracking speed, falloff range and optimal range.

There are 2 types of scripts that you can load into all the different types of tracking computers.

You can only load one script in each computer you have fitted at one time but you can change and remove scripts in flight.

The 2 types of scripts are “Optimal range” and “Tracking Speed”.

“Optimal range” removes the tracking speed bonus but increases optimal and falloff bonuses with 100%. The “Tracking Speed” script removes optimal and falloff bonuses but increases tracking speed bonus with 100%.

Scripting with modules like tracking computers and sensor boosters is like putting crystals in lasers.

The scripts themselves are special inventory items that go into the modules that affect their output.

You dont need to write your own scripts, the scripts in question are items on the marketplace. Look under the following:

Ammunition and Charges > Scripts
