Do people actually do courier contracts?

I've tried a few times to put up courier contracts on my trading alt, but even with what seems a very competitive reward I never got anyone to move my stuff.

For example I offered 3mil ISK reward to move 15k m3 7 jumps to Oursulaert, the first 3 of which were low-sec (50 mil collateral). At the time it seemed a very competitive reward compared to other similar courier contracts available, but even after a week of re-listing and increasing the reward (while still maintaining some profit) I never got a bite, what gives?

What can I do to increase the likely-hood that someone will do my courier contract?

There is basically no market for courier contracts through low-sec. In addition, 15km3 is above most blockade runners' cargo hold and they're the ones who could do it with reasonable expectation of survival. It doesn't help that piracy and faction warfare are big in gallente lowsec now.

For high-sec, check out Red Frog. Freighter service at 250k ISK/jump.

It's all in the numbers man.

Why pay 50 million in order to get 3? If someone has 50 mil worth of cash laying around, another 3 is chump change.

You also have to consider risk versus reward. Going through lowsec, let alone three lowsec systems, there's a good chance that you're going to get attacked by pirates. Even without the 50 mil collateral, a 3 mil reward would only be worth trucking through one low sec system. Now factor in the collateral: you're asking someone to give you 50 mil in order for the chance to get shot at in three different systems.

If they get ganked, they're not only out 50 mil, but whatever they have to pay the pirates and any modules they have to replace.

Finally, think about the length of distance and size of cargo - reward isn't high enough.
