Does an Unanchored secure cargo container last forever as long as its inside a POS?

Trying to find the best way to live in a WH with a friend whos in my alliance but not in corp. Since i cant use the corp hangar array

I’m almost 100% certain containers last forever under POS shields. My corp have been using cans as mailbox for bookmarks, guests from other corps used to store their stuff in cans in our POS… Perhaps that’s the only way to store your items in POS that’s not yours.

Other solution is to have someone who will store your ships/items and take them out when you need something. But it’s probably too much work and possibly boring process.

Im not 100% certain on this point but secure containers will last 30 days after the last time it was opened and i would guess its the same under a pos.

basicly that means if you don’t access it for 30 days it dissaperes. but if you access it on the 29 day another 30 days have to pass before it dissaperes.

In answer to the op and unless ccp have changed something unachored containers will always just float there in space.. Only jet cans will die..

The problem you have it’s that anyone can put the container in their cargo hold if it’s unachored. And then access it or repackage it.. You need to anchore it.

if he anchors for himself only him can unanchor it and steal it.

allso secure cans dosent last forever it last 30 days from the last time someone opened it.

If you read the original post he asks about having an unanchored secure can inside POS shields.. He is not in the corp and therefore can not anchore the can.. So as I said just leaving it hanging in space inside the pos shields anyone with access can take it.

The 30 day thing is interesting though.. it’s certianly newish..

2 years is kinda newish… I had some cans in space for 6 years ^^ Its probably my fault they made them die :P
