Does starting a Warp Disrupt Probe counts as aggressive act

Does an Interdictor gets an aggression timer when he starts a Warp Disrupt Probe (with / without) someone inside the bubble or can he dock / jump through a gate immediately?

Launching a warp disruption probe (usually called dropping a bubble) does not, in and of itself, cause aggression, and the pilot can dock or jump without problems. This is a viable tactic for delaying a pursuing fleet.

However, as soon as the bubble prevents a ship from warping, the interdictor pilot is aggressed. For this reason experienced pilots will often try to initiate warp inside a hostile bubble to prevent the hostile interdictor from escaping.

Equally, less experienced pilots may try to warp inside a friendly bubble, spelling doom for the friendly interdictor.

+1 great answer, friendly pilots can aggress you also. One thing that has never been clear to me, if you catch someone in your bubble (i.e make your own drag bubble) does this cause you to be aggressed, Or is it the act of initiating warp that does it? In other words, is it the fact you have changed someones warp path, or only if you prevent someone from warping you are agressed? I believe its the latter rather than the former.

I did mention freindly pilots at the end there :) I honestly don’t know whether drag bubbles cause aggro – I would doubt it, but have never tested. It’s probably less of an issue than gate bubbles since the dictor will be way off gate at this point anyway. Be interested if anyone knows though.

Yeah, it’s only the act of attempting to initiate warp while inside a bubble that gives aggression to the interdictor pilot. On a related note, never launch a bubble after going through a gate to delay an enemy fleet. If they initiate warp in it before you leave the system, you’ll be trapped.

Yeah, the trick is to get ahead of your fleet and drop a bubble on the OUT gate after your fleet is in warp but before the enemy fleet are warping. That way your guys will land on the gate but the hostiles will land on the edge of your bubble.
