Does training continue when the subscription runs out/account is suspended?

Please provide source or first hand info. Note that there are two questions. Suspension as in time limited ban.

No it does not. It used to but as of October 15th 2008 it was officially removed as per this dev blog. http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=592

Thanks! It doesn’t say anything about being banned though. Just that you’re not training when you’re not paying.

Well the assumption is that if you were banned, you had been so because of something you’ve done against the ToS/EULA. Thus, training would also stop by virtue of losing the account.

I understood that you were granted 3 days to allow for forgetting what date your subscription expires (I have no idea on mine) or payment problems.

I know some players have had success petitioning when their training expired before these 3 days were up.

Edit:

I would also add that if your account is banned then it matters not if your training continues. I expect if you convinced CCP that the ban was not in order and they reinstated the account then you could get your training time back again.

Additional info in response to duplicated question and comment to this post:

OK I am now pretty sure that there is nothing official stating 3 days in the whole Eve website having spent some time trying to find it.

Werner's comment to this answer shows that training definitely continues for at least nearly 3 days and there are many more posts in the forums stating 3 days than any other firm figure. Of course this may have all been started by one person guessing but I feel the evidence is more than strong enough to be sure.

There are numerous mentions, mostly about "friends of friends", who reported that skills with more than 3 days left didn't train at all but this was known and fixed as a bug by CCP who reinstated lost training when petitioned.

There is also some anecdotal evidence that only the skill that is actually training when the account expires continues to run so it doesn't appear to continue through your skill queue for 3 days. It's possible that these last two points were related and that therefore this may also no longer be true.

Just realised that I should have checked out Corey’s link before answering but I can’t access it from work.

I can now confirm that training continues at least 70h 42 min past the subscription end. Next time I will have 2 more hours of patience so that we can check the 3 days theory.

Werner – do you recall if it was just one skill in the queue or more?

so anyone found out if the 3 days theory is true?

I doubt is not true but some official confirmation would be nice!

It could be some latency on CCP’s side, allowing lazy bank “lateness” for billing.

Ecaf, it was only one skill. I did test it on another account last week with two skills in queue and it worked for approx 70 hours past subscription end. I couldn’t go over the 3 day mark this time either due to some obligations.

No, it does not.

(Based on: Forgot to renew subscription for a couple days, and noticed the training timer had not moved for that period)

Did you notice this because EVEmon hadn’t updated or because when you logged in you had the exact same total of skill points? When your account is insubbed, you instantly lose access via API so EVEMon won’t change.

Manually testing this with trial accounts . . . I have managed to get to 12 hours beyond end of sub thus far with one alt. Am trying another pushing for 1 day. It may be that increased in skillpoints will kick out if subscription is renewed too late. It may also be different for trial accounts - but I doubt it.

how are you testing this?… do you make a trial account and then upgrade it after it’s run out? or?

Originally checked training time with EveMon until it had accessing issues. Managed to push delay to about a day and a half. Was basically about running the account 1 ½ day after suspension and then renewing with no loss of training time.
