High sec - Drones set to protect someone agressing someong with killrights. Will it get you CONCORDed?

Ok. I have a hypothetical situation here. I did a search but I couldn't find an answer.

So here's the situation:

Pilot A has kill rights on Pilot B for ganking a low sec kill.

Later on, Pilot B is mining in high sec with Pilot C. Pilot C has his drones set to guard Pilot B.

Pilot A happens to land in their belt and decides to engage Pilot B to claim his kill right.

Since the drones are set to defend, Pilot C's drones automatically attack Pilot A.

So the question. Even though Pilot C didn't lock or directly agress Pilot A, does he still get CONCORDed for that?

Yes, definitely.

In the situation described only pilot B has kill rights. The drone aggression from pilot C is therefore an unlawful attack and will spawn a CONCORD response. This is one of the reasons why you should have your drones set to passive and avoid any drone assisting anyone in high sec.

Thank you. I assumed as much as well. We had a discussion about this will my corp / alliance, and everyone came to that conclusion (including myself) but we wanted to confirm it from external sources.
