After a deliver a bunch of blueprint copying jobs, the BPC's created and the BPO itself looks exactly the same. The only way to to tell them apart is to individually right click on every single BPO/BPC and select show info. Is there a faster and obvious way of doing this? In my case, the BPO's are not locked down, but protected by access permissions to the actual container.

As far as I know there is no easy way to distinguish BPCs from BPOs in a hangar or container. Show info as you mention is the only way as far as I know. Hopefully CCP will introduce a solution to this problem at some point.
Unfortunately, CCP have said many times that there are significant technical difficulties in solving this problem. We keep our fingers crossed!
A colour difference would be great. Green BPOs would make a world of simplicity for indy players.
This may be the problem too, if server treats BPOs and BPCs as the same item with different amount of runs(BPO – infinite or zero).

Now that CCP introduced separate (as opposed to layered) images for each item in-game we will hopefully see a solution to this sometime in the not too distant future. Then again, Serker may have a point if they are not actually separate item types.
Good news: CCP confirmed at Fanfest that in the future BPCs and BPOs would look different in TQ. No time frame was given afaik.

This problem has been completely solved by CCP in the Incursion 1.5 patch. Now BPC’s and BPO’s look entirely different, and are very easy to tell apart.
“Blueprint copies and blueprint originals can now be searched independently by selecting the appropriate option in the Category drop-down” according to the Incursion 1.2 Patch Notes. http://www.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp?patchlogID=221
