How does one find a solar system where lots of people are running missions?

Basically, I’m looking to find a system where lots of people are running missions.

I think there’s a few ways I can do this using in game tools, but there’s gotta be a better way.

Right now, I’m using the following steps:

  • Open up the dotlan evemaps find a system with lots of npc kills in it
  • Put that system into the eve-tool.net agent finder (Make sure you don’t filter based upon whether you can use them or not)
  • If it has quite a few agents I assume that it’s got mission runners in it.

Because I’m doing this to buy loot off of mission runners in order to refine for profits, I then:

  • Check how far it is from Jita using the eve-tools trade finder
  • Check if there is a good refiner
  • Use the refine finder to see what people are listing on the market for less than material cost. I look for things with high profit margins because those tend to be good for placing buy orders.

This workflow could probably be simplified quite a bit, however.

You could just use eve-agents.com (IIRC that is the address) or the new agent finder in game and just find the all the L4’s. Then write down which constellations have the most. I know Isinokka (system) in Lonetrek region has 2 or 3, Motsu has a few and there is an Amarr system not far from Amarr that has 2, so there are several ‘hubs’.

You might have more of an issue now since the change if people are spreading out, but people will still congrgate where there are multiple L4 agents. So that would be my suggestion.

  • Use the Starmap –> Statictics –>Pirate and police ships destroyed in the last 24h or Average pilots in space in the last 30 Minutes
  • Use the API to fetch the info about kills –> http://wiki.eve-id.net/APIv2MapKills_XML

(This way you can estimate where thiose players went.

After the latest changes to agents, you’ll probably find most of the mission runners in 0.5 security space with L4-Security agents and no/only one nearby lowsec system.

You can check the in game map and set statistics for ‘number of pilots docked and active’. The biggest blobs in highsec are usually mission hubs, after all, whatelse would you be doing in high sec? :D (The obvious exception being Jita.)

Docked people are not running missions.

Look for npc-kills. That’s more interesting.
