How is "omni damage" distributed?

I have been wondering how "omni damage" is calculated within EvE Online. Sleepers and Sanshas from Incursions are dealing damage with no focus on a particular damage type. How is their damages calculated against your defenses?

Which one is it ?

  • Total damage against lowest resistance
  • (Total damage / 4) against each resist and then added together
  • Something else

That settles the problem indeed, didn’t use the correct keywords to make my search ;)

Actually, the question wasn’t asked. It just happened to be answered in the course of answering another question, specific to sleepers. I guess you could say the question was implicitly asked withing the sleepers question. Maybe it could be edited to better reflect the more general nature of this question, in merging the two?

While I haven't done much in Incursions, I do know that Sleepers do damage as such:

  • Missiles do 50% Kinetic/50% Explosive damage
  • "Turrets" (I'm guessing, it's some kind of energy beam) do 50% EM/50% Thermal

Since their missiles and turrets do the same base damage, they effectively split their damage 25%/25%/25%/25% before taking sig radius, transversal, etc.

To answer your question, the second option you gave.

"Omni tanking" is tanking for every damage type - ideally getting all resists roughly equal and as high as possible.

So I'd guess "omni damage" - never heard that term before - would be doing equal amounts of all damage types.

Perhaps you could edit the question to make more sense?

I don’t see how I can make it more clear. Sleepers and incursion sanshas are doing omni-damage, that’s all there is to it ^^
