Initiating warp and the HUD indicates that you are (warping). When are you untargetable?

When you initiate warp and the HUD indicates that you are (warping) but your ship is still travelling at subwarp speed, at what point do you become untargetable? Is it as soon as you've hit 75% max speed or later?

Thanks for your replies.

Thank you both for your answers – yeah makes sense that the dip to zero is the trigger for being untargetable )

As soon as you hit 75% you are considered as being in warp and invulnerable. You remain in that state until you exit warp on the other end and your speed drops below 75% again. It is important to note, however, that your client may not show what someone else's client shows. Ultimately it depends on their connection to the server and the server itself. Just because your screen shows you are in warp does not mean that the server thinks you are or that you cannot be shot.

Thanks for your answer Nathan – when you mention server / client lag however what sort of ‘normal’ timeframe are we talking here? Say in a lightly populated system would it be usually 1sec or 5? (obviously it could be a minute or more in a laggy fleetfight). Who gets the upperhand.. you or the other player?

Depends on your ping. If there is little lag and you have a good network connection then we’re talking 100ms or less. On a bad day…it could be more than a minute. The upper hand goes to whomever has a better connection and a lower ping.

When you go to warp you see your speed bar go up as you align and then it drops back to 0 and quickly goes up to 100%. I'm pretty sure you become untargetable at the point when the bar drops to 0, although I imagine that might happen on the server at a slightly different moment from the client if your client is slightly out of sync.
