Is it worth training Clarity V?

Asked by [ Editor ]

My main is remapped for per+wil. Clarity (rank 3, per+wil skill) increases perception by +1. I already have Spatial Awareness V and Clarity IV. The training would take almost 10 days. However, I'll be training per+wil skills for the next year.

According to my one year evemon plan, adding Clarity V will add 3 days to total training time. I plan to play eve over the next 2-3 years at least, and cross-train ships from all 4 races over the next year and beyond. So this might be useful in the far future. But then I'd have to wait another 10 days right now before training anything useful.

So the answer is a definite YES! In the same vein, will be training Logic V, and possibly Eidetic Memory V next time I’m int+mem remapped. Fairly certain Focus V isn’t worth it right now.

As mentioned several times in answers to questions on this site you need around 400 days training skills with the relevant attribute as primary to get back the time it takes to train one rank 3 learning skill to level 5 - not a year for all 5 - do the maths if you doubt me, I did the sums several times as it seemed a lot to me.

Clarity is the one rank 3 learning skill I have trained to level 5 for that all important Perception.

Also bear in mind the higher your attributes are before you train the level (any level in fact) the less effect it has (as a percentage in any case)

For the doubters:

+1 on your primary attribute gives you an extra 66 sp/hr if you have Learning 5 (1.1 sp per minute)

You need 632,235 sp for level 5 of a rank 3 skill

632235 / 66 = 9579.35 hours = 399 days

The answer is a definitive YES. If you are really anxious to train somthing else train it to at LEAST 4 , then prepare for a plan to train it to 5.

Also i dont recomment training for multiple races until you are proficient in one. ( min 30 mil skill-points - depending on specialisations). An if you do try to find races that share some requierd skills - ie armor tanking race with armor tanking race , or turret race wit turret race. You will not need to re-train some support skills.

So far I’m not too heavily invested in any race. Soon after I could undock my first drake (yeah, I know), I did a int+mem remap and trained support skills for a long time. I plan to fly every race’s bc for a bit before making a firm commitment.

Minmatar have the most shield – flying ships than any other race except from caldari. So you might want to go that way. I also recommend training cruiser to 5 and playing with some hacks :>

if you are sure you will play eve for that long then it might be worth it. but since you can never now it might be enough to get the advanced learning skills to level 4 and only the basics and learning to 5.

as long as u will play EVE for over a year it is worth to train all learning to 5.

If you don’t care much about trading/industry skills, it likely isn’t worth training beyond Presence III (or even Empathy IV for that matter). For the same reason, it’s hard to justify training Focus V (wil+chr skill) . Further, you should train the basic learning skills with an int+mem remap, then clarity, focus, presence during a per+wil remap.
