Is T1 salvage from L4 missions worth acquiring?

After the tyrannis expansion, the loot drop from L4 missions has become significantly worse. Recently, I spent over an hour tabulating the salvage I had in stock, and what kind of profit I could make manufacturing and selling t1 rigs. In every case, I found I was making a loss or marginal profits. Am I missing something, or is it now NOT worth your time looting/salvaging L4 missions if you can run them fairly quick? I do have a single tractor beam on my PVE ship that I use for grabbing some looting while killing ships, but stopped bothering to show up in a dedicated salvaging destroyer. I even abandon my wrecks to make it easier for ninja salvagers.

The consensus appears to be 1. definitely worth it for newer players 2. focus on large and (maybe) medium wrecks. 3. angel wrecks give better salvage 4. keep an eye out for t1 named items in the loot.

I'd say salvaging is certainly worthwhile primarily for newer players. Once you can run level 4's relatively fast, it quickly loses its worth as you generally stand to make more money by moving on to the next mission asap.

For a lowbie player, the 10-20m you can make an hour is certainly worth while.

If you are missioning Angels, salvage will be a big part of your mission income. Also, if you're a bit in production, just save up all those salvage parts for a month or two, and then check out what rigs sell best at the moment - rigs are built fast from salvage parts only, and usually sell pretty good.

Salvage is worth it. Specially if you get yourself a 2nd acc to loot/salvage while your primary is doing the missions :)

when it comes to salvaging any lv4 mission, unless you have a buddy with you who is a dedicated salvager, the only way to stay profitable on a time basis is to loot/salvage the bs wrecks only. Once you start to salvage the smaller wrecks you waste too much time. In my dominix I can salvage while I fight and usually slap on another 5-15mil of salvage/loot on top of my bounties and rewards.

salvaging has always been worth it to me. i use my paladin as it has that nice tractor beam bonus while i keep killing ships and just use a salvage beam aswell while killing so. and i make quite a bit of money from that sometimes nearly all the time the salvge is worth alot however most of the time the bounty prize for killing the ship is worth more.
