Is there a way to contact other users?

I notice that at least one user has a number of questions out there with well regarded answers but no accepted answer.

Generally I would like to ping him privately and suggest he as some work to do, but it seems Stack Exchange doesn't have that functionality built in.

Shouldn’t this be made community wiki?

I know StackOverflow will email you sometimes to remind you about various things but I believe Stack Exchange doesn't yet have that functionality.

As a mod/admin I have access to users email addresses (if they registered with one) so as an option while we are still small I could personally email them.

More helpful would be a system wherby the highest rated answer becomes accepted after X amount of days if the question owner has not accepted it within the time period.

Many people lose interest and don't come back, sending them an email is no guarantee that they will come back and accept an answer. Also there is potentially a data protection issue here as well, if people signing up don't agree to be contacted directly by email then STC should not be contacting them anyway.

I would also like an answer to this as I have made some contacts with other users on here that I need to follow up on in-game. An answer to this would be most helpful, even if it requires admins to moderate the contacts. Thank you.

We could always contact Jeff Atwood and see if we can implement a feature like that. I wouldn't be too hard, so long as you don't mind exposing your email address. the SE platform probably will never have its own messaging system, though. It wasn't designed for that.
