I am getting to the point of my eve carreer that i and going to go for T2 lazers. My question here is Pulse or beam? I mostly PVE but am getting into PVP with my corp.
Normally i fly beam lazers for the range since i use multifrequency crystals that cut the range in half.
So what are the pros and cons of pulse vs beam lazers?

Pulse: Pros- faster rate of fire therefore greater DPS, faster tracking Cons- Short to medium range with small falloff and
Beam- Pros- Greater range with greater damage modifier Cons- Slower tracking, slower rate of fire so you may lack DPS

Pulse for anything but sniping, t2 pulses get scorch which ends your range problem with only slightly lower damage than Multifrequencies, battleships have an optimal range of +- 45km on scorch, BC's around 25km. Also just train both specs up to 4, it doesn't take long. Should only get specs up to 5 when all other gunnery support is at 5, you have skills like Recon 5, HAC5, BS5, BC5 etc already as the bonusses you get from those are MUCH larger than spec 5 for the time spent training.
