Logistics in 0.0

People often don't understand the difficulty of maintaining a self contained alliance. Could somebody explain what type of pilots are needed to operate a self contained alliance from the top tiers of corporate control to the roid munchers?

That's a pretty big question. First and foremost, a good alliance needs GOOD leadership. I cannot begin to tell you how crucial this is. Secondly, you need a solid core of PvP'ers willing to defend the space, and maintain security for everybody, as well as keep hostiles from looking at your space as a playground. Next, you need the industry backbone, market players, etc, to keep the ISK flowing. And as far as logistics go, you most definitely need carriers and at least a jump freighter pilot or two, willing to run constant Alliance contracts for a modest fee (Most people calculate how much ISK it costs to do a round-trip per fuel, say, 30M ISK back and forth in an Anshar, divide that by how many M3 most JF's can hold, and make that the cost per m3 of cargo, plus 10-20M so that the pilot is profiting slightly) It's best if said JF pilot is making 1-2 runs per week, just to make certain alliance members feel no major delay in getting their assets out to play with. Just remember, they are putting their 4 billion ISK asset on the line. Make darned certain they have incentives to run the contracts, to run alliance goods out to the space, and make absolutely certain they're 100% safe ALWAYS. :)

What Aesynil said is absolutely right but to clarify more on the "GOOD leadership" part you need a CEO and directors that know what they are doing. But most importantly You need good FCs. When it comes time to defend your nullsec if you don't have a good FC you can easily lose a fight that you could have won if your FC knew what to do.
