Market Data Alternatives

So Metrics is bowling out. Understandable but a sad day nonetheless. And, simultaneously, Eve Central is getting even more eccentric than ever.

Can anyone recommend a decent way to track the New Eden market out of game, using a source that isn't based on Eve Central and equally as quirky? To be honeest, all I need are volumes historically sold, not prices at all.

Cheers for any help on this - have warehouses full of stuff, and I wanna pass em on!

Sad news indeed. But if Ix isnt even playing, can’t really blame him. We’re lucky to have enjoyed it whilst we did, I guess.

Well, Yann has asked for help with eve-central. At the very least, he has hosting sorted and all the code is available as open source, so if you're a developer, mise well help out.

Having said that, someone has decided to reimplement eve-metrics, so if you want to help, there's eve-marketdata. It's still (very) in beta though.

Got on eve-marketdata.com today, still very rough but it’s definitely headed in the right direction. It looks like a good alternative to eve-metrics. +1

I’ve offered my lil bit of assistance too. Can’t code for toffee, but can help on the UI and design side, and generally come up with stupid, and occasionally maybe implementable, ideas.

Marketdata could well be the kernel of a great site. Hope they really rock it when they get back from the break.

Metrics and Central are both super handy, in their own ways, and I’d love to see them developed to full potential. Metrics was all about volume traded and generally being up to date for me, whilst Central is great in that it covers a far greater area of New Eden

Addendum – as with so many of these things, the ‘niggles’ on both could of course be ironed out by more of their users running the uploader, bringing the data more up to date and wider in scope. Here’s to the hard work of all the devs. Where woudl we be without em?

You can also try JITONOMIC'S MARKET... I use it all the time ;-)

I checked out Jitonomics. Very handy, for sure. Seems to be quite up to date, which is cool, and I like the cross market section, so none of my corp haulers need run around as dead weight again.

No volume traded section, but another handy tool, thanks.
