New PI System Loses My Money?

I was reading the devblog and Incursion pages provided to me in my last question, and I noticed that CCP is changing to an upgradeable Command Center system. The notes made it sound like all centers not currently on planets would be altered to reflect the new format. Assuming the new CCs are cheaper, as the upgrade cost comes on the planet, does this mean I lose the 12million ISK I put into buying those CCs last night?

Obviously that would be very bad and I'm hoping CCP will make a statement, if they have not already. Also, any word on what will happen to installed CCs?

EDIT The devblog I was referring to can be found here:

*UPDATE*After filing a petition with CCP I have been informed that "some agreement may be reached" but that in the meantime CCP "cannot give out information on upcoming releases"

Can you link the dev blog so we know what you are referring to?

Yes the wording indicates that only undeployed command centres will be upgraded.

I have no info but I am assuming that your existing setup will remain, for a while at least, but yes if you want to make use of the new benefits then you'll have to tear it all down and start again.

I had a play on test and although it wasn't working properly it looks as if you will be able to place one extractor that covers an area. It seems that these new extractors are scalable so can replace multiple extractors in the current system.

I have over 70 extractors and the daily double-click fest is annoying. I completely get why some people can't be bothered and POS fuel prices have gone through the roof (the main reason why I am still enduring it). Hopefully I can have just two extractors per planet now which will reduce my number of clicks by a factor of 7.

I think this benefit alone will be worth the additional cost. Maybe CCP will credit us back when we decommission facilities...lol...maybe.

Update

I still haven't got round to setting up my new PI system but I've just been reading the new PI guide on the Eve website and found this little snippet:

"The first step in adopting the new system is to use the "Decommission" button on your old extractors as soon as they have completed any ongoing extraction. When you decommission you will be reimbursed the same amount that the extractor had cost you when you first built it."

Either I am psychic or CCP read my post!

i had two CCs laying somewhere on a station... and i got the money back from the CCs (at least the amount i would have saved) given to me from a GM... i didn't tell them to give it to me... they just did... so it was seemingly noticed
