Best - Angels Worst - Guristas.

Guristas drop not a single salvage item that is worth more than 25,000 isk, and are rather unique in that respect. Angels drop Alloyed tritanium bars and Armor Plates, making them salvage-worthy.

Here's a table of salvage items dropped by the various NPCs in the different empires:

A nicer salvage drop is an Armor Plate. You stand to acquire this from any larger wreck.. I don't know if it's random or not but angels seem to drop them more often. Other than that, you'll make more money from increasing your salvage volume (and by this I mean salvaging more often and for longer periods of time) than by selectively salvaging wrecks. Stick to level 4 missions though.

All ships give different type of salvage. Blood Raider ships will give the type of salvage mainly used in building armor-type rigs more often than others. They do not, for example, give ward consoles, which are needed for shield rigs.

An exception to this is the famous armor plates, which drop from all shiptypes and races, although much more often from rats battlecruiser and above.

Rogue drones give not-bad salvage, but I would recommend salvaging any drone site you do on basic principles - they don't have bounties so salvage and loot is the only way to make iskies off drones.

All in all, it depends on what you want to do with your salvage. If you're planning to build rigs with it, then you should try to salvage the race that drops the salvage needed for the rigs you want to build.

If you're just wanting to sell it, then any and all types work.

FYI: Best T1 salvage (based on my experience): armor plates, tripped power circuits, melted capacitor consoles, ward consoles and one of the logic circuits but I can't remember specifically which.

To my knowledge and from experience, it doesn't matter which race gives the best salvage. It mostly depends on ship type. (EX. Small, Medium, Large wrecks) Large wrecks will give you the best salvage results.

You can score T2 salvage from salvaging sleeper wrecks in WH's as well as certain rogue drone sites in null sec.

If I am wrong, hopefully someone will correct me or have something to add.
