Out of phase armor repair vs in phase - which is better?

With dual reppers going for armor, is it better to have the reppers both repair at the same time? or as far apart in time as possible?

For example, a Dominix that repairs 1840 every 12 seconds (920 x2). Is it better to have this repair 1840 every 12 seconds? or 920 every 6 seconds? Is there an advantage of one over the other?

If you're perma-running them, out of phase for two reasons:

1- Because at low armor it prevents structure damage bleed

2- If your setup is barely cap stable (ie, stabilizes at 35%-ish) it's possible that the big cap drain from both reppers at the same time skips your peak recharge, causing your tank to fail.

Both of these situations are pretty rare though, the first because it's likely you're going to die anyway, regardless of struct bleed or not and the second is only true under very specific circumstances.

Stagger also staggers the hit on the cap. Not often a major issue on a mission domi since they tend to be overly cap stable. It is an issue when micro-managing cap in a dual-rep PvP tank, which would be booster sustained.

IMO its better to stagger the repair. Activate one wait for it to get halfway thru cycle and then activate the next. This gives you a more consistent boost to armor. Im sure there might be some scenarios where just activating them both at same time might be better but I cant think of any.

The repair happens at the end of the cycle right? So obviously if you need the repair ASAP then activating all at the same time would be better than waiting.

– if you need the repair ASAP and you need to activate them now you will wait 12 seconds for the repair to be done.

This all assumes that you are both cap stable (and I believe that staggering the repair will improve cap stability by reducing large one time loads) and have a stable tank going. With 920 every 6 seconds, you are less likely to ‘over repair’ and have to wait a full cycle for another repair. If your tank is failing (taking more than 154 dps with the above setup), it doesn’t matter if they are cycled or not.
