Pos going offline with research jobs.

Lets say i have a 2 month research job at a pos and then it goes offline what happens to the job?

Nothing. The job will have a status of something like "offline" in the Science and Industry tab. When the tower is onlined, the job will automatically continue once you've onlined the Labs.

If you want bpo/c back without onlining the tower then repackage the lab.

This is correct. Exactly this happened to me when a corpmate was fiddling with the fuel in the bay the tower cycled with one of the fuels missing completely. The jobs just froze but restarted automatically once the tower went back online again.

Actually a minor correction. Once the tower is back online you’ll need to online all the labs etc you have anchored too. The lab jobs will restart when the lab comes back online.

but i am guessing that if you have the BPO/BPC in the lab… and you repackage it… it’ll be lost… right?

I'm not completely sure about this as this never happened to me.. but I remember reading somewhere that your BPO will be locked and you have to petition CCP to unlock it and you will loose all your progress.

Perhaps you can simulate this scenario by setting mobile lab offline while you have research in progress (try it on some cheap BPO).

Btw, is it possible to set 2 month research que?

No this in correct for POSes. I recall that Outposts had all kinds of issues with lab jobs but that was sometime ago and is hopefully fixed now.

It isn’t possible to queue another task behind a long one but setting a single task that takes more than 4 weeks is fine. I have several BPOs that take in region of 6-7 weeks for 1 ME and I’ve run these fine in a POS lab.
