POS's and ISK: How Do I turn My pos Network into an ISK making machine?

I have a small POS network consisting of 2 medium Gallenti towers and 3 small Amarr towers., right now my Towers are set up moon harvesting, The minerals they bring in sometimes barly cover the fuel cost, I am thinking of investing in some reactors and doing basic reactions, I am also aware that Labs can produce a significant income. Those of you who have experience running POS networks, what types of set ups can some one run to produce isk? which operations would be more successfull isk wise? I also own several small t1 ammo and cruzor BPO. I have so far invested about 3 bil in POS towers and epuipment and I have seen very little return. I have about another 2 bil budgeted to "renovate" the way I am operating my POS network. Any help you guys could offer would be appreciated.

I don't know the specifics of your situation like which materials the moons you harvest provide, which markets you have access to etc, but consider the option of scaling down. forcing yourself to make use of all the 5 POS may turn a profitable business with 2 towers into a failing one. An additional POS uses additional resources. Not only ISK, but also time. Therefore evaluate if they add more value than the resources they suck.

If you cannot make a meaningful value chain with all of your POS, just decommission (and even sell) some.

The best advice I have is to build things to sell. If you have a research facility you can make blueprint copies to sell. Or use it to make your blueprints more efficient through materiel research. Battle cruisers and t2 ships are good ships to build. Also t2 rigs can be good.

Use your small towers to harvest moon materiel to use for making t2 items. You will need to use reactors to get the end product used in t2 ships. Use your large towers for reactions and construction.

Unless you’ve got access to some pretty special moon goo, generally you need complex reactors to make a decent amount of money. Complex reactors need Large Towers.

You can have a twin setup with two poses harvesting the stuff for a reaction and both producing it in their reactors. then you just have to fly the moon stuff from pos A to pos B and vice versa, giving you more efficiency. Fill up free space with Labs. Build T2 stuff, Get ISK, Be happy :)

Slightly slant on the original post, a couple of corp members should with optimised PI skills be able to provide enough POS fuels for two medium towers thus reducing your fuel overhead costs significantly thus making your POS network more profitable.

One Character wit 5 Low-Sec Planets can easily fuel two Medium POS Towers, except from Ice Products.
