R.A.M. - Starship Tech?

In t2 manufacturing I see I need R.A.M.-Starship Tech to build a ship, but it also says 95% damage per run. Does that mean the item isn’t consumed and I can repair between runs? Or will I have to get more for every bpc I run.

If a BP asks for 10 RAM @ 95% damage per run, 9.5 will be consumed, leaving one “damaged” one left over. This damaged one still counts toward future runs (so if you installed the same BP again, 9 full RAM would be consumed AND the damaged one used up to reach 9.5).

Also, RAM can be repaired… but it’s kind of a pain and not really worth the ISK.

Personally, I buy/build a large stack of RAM (1k) and periodically restock that, rather than buy RAM for each build. ~Lockefox

Repairing a RAM costs about 1500 isk from 50% damage. Repairing twice is cheaper then getting an extra RAM. Not that you save a lot compared to the cost of other materials though.

Does it use the repair service at an outpost? If I’m in a nullsec alliance and we have free repairs at our outposts I can repair one for free? Or is it a different method?

This co-incidentally is the same for all R.A.M not just Starship Tech.

All T2 Construction requires these interface components.

Like lockefox I tend to build my own ram in blocks of 500, generally lasts a couple of weeks dependant on my construction schedule at the time.

NullSec Outposts repair is of course fantastic for cheap RAM. I do wary about having my big R.A.M needing construction Projects in 0.0 though, as they tend to get hit just at the point I commit to building a Rhea or something…. go figure. Therefore T2 cruisers and below are fine, but anything bigger is done in low/high-sec.

IIRC it may not even need repairs. I think it’s an all-or-nothing thing. If you go over 100% on a RAM it’s destroyed and you will need a new one, but at least a couple of years back you could do fine as long as you didn’t cross 100% on any of them. As it is they’re fairly easy to produce and/or buy.

Nope, it becomes damaged and needs repairs. Or you can consume those 5% on the next run and another 90% from another one.
