POS refinary do's and don't.

If you have standings good enough to anchor a POS in hi-sec, don't use them.

If you have standings above 5.0 with any corp and they have a station nearby use that instead.

If you have sufficient skills to get a 100% refine in a 50% station i.e Refine V, Refine efficiency V and the relevant ore processing 1. Then you are good to go.

Do bare in mind even with 100% refine you will lose 25% of yield with an intensive array, and 65% with a standard.

If you have access to an outpost, even if it only has the base 35% refine you are better off using this, if you take the ore processing up to V also and plug in a Beancounter H60 implant you can still get 99.4% refine, which is close enough to 100% anyhow, but it is more skill and fund intensive to start with.

all these negatives aside, and the general don't use them, don't use them, don't use them speech I give time and time again. They do have an excellent use which I encourage...

This is ICE refining. POS refinary modules always output at 100% regardless of the output multiplier. So if you have Ice processing 1 and Refine and refine efficiency V you are good to go for 100% recovery even in the standard refinary.

Why is this good, well to start off with, don't need your usual 6.87 standings to get perfect refine. Second, you can refine 40 units of ice every hour.

Third, two can fit in a small pos.

So you can refine 80 units of ice an hour.

think that about sums it up, only real use that doesn't mean lots of waste is on Ice.
