If my research POS is Killed and I am remotely researching Blueprints at it, but the blueprints are held at an NPC station in same system, are the BPO's lost upon destruction of the POS or POS labs they are being researched at?

The POS must contain datacores, decryptors and various sundry materials for R&D, but the BPO itself can be in the NPC station as you say. This will keep the BPO safe, but anything in the POS - including BPCs from copy runs and invention runs - will be lost on POS destruction.
