Setting up a corp killboard

I'm looking to set up a pvp orientated corp. Resultantly, I need to know about killboards.

How do I go about setting up a killboard? Which ones are API linked (and what does that mean)? Which killboards are best?

I understand that some killboards are free and others cost isk?

Any other advice?

Thanks.

Hi there. Have you looked at using eve-kill.net?

Check this link:

http://evsco.net/

...alternatively goto:

http://www.eve-kill.net

...and then click on the EVSCO link on the top right. They offer free hosting and if you decide to pay, the adsense stuff is removed.

I had a friend of mine setup and host our own killboard. Whilst this was an amazing piece of work, it was a nightmare to maintain.

JUst to point out, I am in no way affiliated with eve-kill. I post my mails there, nothing more :-)

eve kill boards are pretty good – they share a feed with Battleclinic too so you will usually find you are up to date on their also and ofc having your own eve-kill board means your kills/losses will be on their main board as well (and militia board if you are in FW). I thought you had to post manually to ensure they were up todate but I think perhaps this is not actually true – someone mentioned to me recently that they update themselves afterdown time? Anyone know more?!

Try doing a few google searches for eve killboards. I have never set one up personally but from what I've gathered from corpies it is not hard to do at all and yes some do require a modest amount of isk to keep up and running. Check out Griefwatch for example, pretty popular service. You can set up a personal, corp, or alliance board. Have fun.

Edit: This piece of info may be helpful as well. From the Battle Clinic Griefwatch FAQ:

You can also use API keys to automatically fetch kill/loss data from the EVE API database. API settings are slightly more complicated to set up, but once done they don’t need to be worried about. Go to the EVE Online website and log into your account. Visit your character screen and find the link for API key info. Obtain your FULL API key (not limited, the FULL key) and enter this, along with your User ID from the same page, into the board.

The API data can NOT be used to harm your account or obtain such private information as credit card details or real life identity.

the full api is needed from the ceo such that the killboard can get ALL the corp kills/losses via api. If you give limited it will only take yours.
