Asked by [ Editor ] , Edited by Silas Sanyasi [ Moderator ]

I want to go out in to 0.0 but all the exists are gate camped all the time, I was wonderign what fitting and ship other than cov ops can I setup to run past gate camps.

What kinda of tactics are there to do it too. My skills I will just train them up to whats needed but is there any skills that help running past gate camps.

or is it just better to get some mates and blow them up?

Easy as pie.

Covops:

  1. Jump threw the gate.
  2. Click max speed.
  3. Click MWD.
  4. Click Cloak.
  5. Move a bit, watch them try to catch you. Warp Off.

NOTE: Make a BM over 150km before warping off so you have a safe place to check for drag bubbles on the gate.

You will be moving 2,000 km/s away from where you bliped. Good Dramiel pilots with Warrior II's following them will never catch you.

Practice this on normal gates first. Between Eve and your computer, there might be a slight delay between MAX SPEED and MWD or MWD and CLOAK. Not doing them in this order is bad in several ways.

Forget to hit Max Speed: MWD goes off, you are 500% bigger, and you cloak. Decloaking pilot might grab you.

Forget to hit MWD: You will be moving around 200-500 km/s depending on fitting. Potential to be decloaked.

Forget to hit CLOAK: You will be targeted and die.

This can be repeated for Cloaking Transports, Bombers, Force Recon ships, T3.

UBER SAFE: T3 ship with 'Interdiction Nullifier' subsystem. Bubbles won't be able to stop you. Best when paird with the Cloaking subsystem.

Learn to use the star map. Turn on statistics so that you can see the number of ship kills and pod kills in the last hr and 24 hrs. That way you can try to avoid the 'hot' systems.

Lets put it this way. If the ship can't cloak it has a couple options. It can burn outta the bubble and warp quick but that usually means it has no tank and will be killed. It can burn back to the gate and head back the way it came which is your safest bet but you will still most likely be popped even if people who didn't agress follow you to the other side. Lastly you can tank until you get outta the bubble which normally means you will be very slow and will still get popped. You should always have a scout when traveling through lowsec.

if you are afraid to lose your ship, dont go there. low-sec is dangerous if you are not in a fast ship that can get out of camps and null is dangerous because there can be gatecamps with bubbles which will catch you if you are not in a very fast or cloaky ship. btw i grabbed a rifter a few days ago and had no problem entering null so just try it. take a cheap ship because you might lose it. anyway null is nothing special if you dont want to get sovereignty there.

Depends where you are trying to go, sounds to me like you are trying to enter soverign space... Some alliances defend their borders more vigourously than other, but as with low sec the highest resistance is at the point of entry (ie low/hi border).

There are no magic wands, even Cov-ops and T3's can be caught although it is admittedly more difficult for this to happen, main advice is practice. Learn how to evade bubbles on exit with directional scan, and bubbles on entry you have several options as Aoshikenshin states. If you are cov ops your best bet is to pick the nearest edge, mwd and cloak in that direction and then warp to anything you can in the vauge direction you are travelling. Then bounce the planets and start looking for a way to progress to the next gate.

A well organised camp can be tough to get through for even the most experienced pilots though, hence the reason for having them. If you can't get through with a Cov-ops, try another route even if it is 20 more jumps.
