Standing From Missions

Asked by [ Editor ]

I've been doing missions for awhile now and I was wondering if there's anyway to see standing more accurately. I had trouble at one point when I had 5.0 standing but I couldn't anchor a POS. I also wonder if there is any way to predict the standing gain from completing a particular mission.

This is a complicated topic - first question is are you in a player corporation?

If not then you cannot raise a POS at all.

Second question: Is your standing to the faction that controls the space where you want to raise the POS at 5 or is it your security status?

In any case it is your corporation's standing to the faction that controls the space where you want to raise the POS that counts.

There is a highly detailed article written by yours truly on faction standings here: http://www.eve-links.com/factions-%E2%80%93-love-me-or-hate-me/

I am in a corporation and I do have standing of ‘exactly’ 5.0 with the Amarr empire. However, according to a CCP GM my true standing is just below 5 and rounded up to 5 for ease. I did raise my standing and was able to anchor as planned.

Which leads to my second/tertiary question, is there anyway to make an accurate prediction of standing gain from a mission?

I know that there are fixed percentage gains from Cosmos missions so it would stand to reason that there would be for normal missions too. The net effect won’t always be the same due to the way the percentage is applied and your social skills.

In the Standings tab of your character sheet, right click the corporation. Choose 'Show Transactions'. This will show you the standings gain for each of your recently completed missions.

As above if you are in a player corp then it is your corps. standing that counts.

In addition - if you want to anchor in a 5.0 system you (or your player corp if you are in one) must have 0.5 Faction Standing. If you want to anchor in a 6.0 system you (or your player corp) must have 0.6 Faction Standing.

These must be your standings before skills (for example if you have the Connection skill trained up it is your unmodified standing that counts not the standing you have with Connections).

standing with a corporation and standing with the faction are two completely different things. your CORP must have at least a 5.0 FACTION standing with the faction you are trying to set up a POS in, not just you, and not your corporate standing.

so for example if you have a caldari state faction standing of 7.0 and your friend in the corporation has a caldari state faction standing of 3.0 it will drag the corporation standing down to 4.0 (screwing over the ability for the corporation to put up a POS)

Double click on the name of the faction in your Character Sheet -> Standings. You will see a list of all the events that affected your standings with that faction/corp. It will have the date/time, name of mission and the percent standings increase.

For anchoring a hisec pos, you need to increase standings with the faction what owns the system. Faction standings are acquired by doing storyline missions. You will receive one storyline mission for every 15 regular missions you run for a corp in that faction. The fastest way to raise faction standings is to do the cosmos missions for that faction. Since you can do this only once and the missions can be hard, prepare for this carefully.

standings they are 2 types. corp and faction. u could be 9 in a npc corp but maybe 1 with their faction. if ur working for POS planting u need minimum 5 for a corp that has sov. in a system of sc. 0.5 if u want higher sec. system u need more faction standing.

to achieve this faster besides doing 16 misions and 1 storyline. do cosmos missions. each count as storyline and u can do most them in less 5 minutes!! find a cruiser and have 2 fittings 1 full of exp. cargo-holds and other for pve and ull c the standing go up in a flash.
