what's your question? be descriptive.

By: Asked

What achievements would you like to share to your friends?

Eve online is missing achievement system, however I'm developing third party achievements system based on API data ( overview sample profile )

I implemented almost 200 achievements and now I'm out of ideas - that why I came to ask question:

What achievement would you like to share to your friends?

Please post your ideas and rate other people ideas :)

The achievements have to be verificable by API, they may be easy or hard to gain, silly or serious

Thanks in advance

In such a paranoid world as eve online, would players really want to see their personnal info so wildly available ?

Considering all these killboards, extra info in style of “killed a ship with hull repper fitted” won’t make difference.

Although a way to make your achievements private will be nice.

Oooh. I'd like achievements for getting smacked ("Griefer"), getting smacked in Russian ("Bear Baiter"), podkilling ("Can't make an omelette..."), podkilling and scooping the corpse ("Pick-up artist"), killing a ship worth more than 100m ("Rain on your parade"), losing a ship with more than ECM boats on your lossmail ("Popular")...

...destroying ships with hull reppers fitted ("Mercy Killing"), destroying ships with more than two types of gun fitted ("Taste the rainbow"), owning more than 1000 corpses ("Sure I've got puppies in my van"), flying a thorax hull more than 50% of the time ("Banana in my pocket")...

I think this is a wonderful idea to implement. I don't really have the time right now to go over all of the achievements but I will make some suggestions. They should be divided up into the professions you have in eve. So make +/- 50 achievements for Trading, Missioning, Mining, Pirating, PVP, Faction Warfare, Production, Exploration, etc.

Here are some ideas off the top of my head:

Ninja Salvager: salvage another persons wreck.

Deep Space Salvager: Salvage a sleeper.

Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Salvager: Salvage 5, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 wrecks respectively.

Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Trader: Have 5, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 buy/sell orders fulfilled.

Trade Juggernaut: Have Tycoon, Retail, Wholesale and Trade to lvl 5

Flooding the Market: Prereq Trade Juggernaut, have your maximum amount of active buy/ sell orders allowed.

I really could go on forever lol!

A couple of stupid ones:

Hijacked!: Get suicide ganked in high-sec space in a T1 industrial with more than 50 million ISK onboard

Sucker for Punishment: Visit Jita 100 times

Broke!: Have a buy order cancelled whilst using margin trading due to insufficient funds.

I like the idea. There might be a few problems, however... the API data doesn't go back very far so you may have to store it over time and people who have been playing longer than a month will not have their personal achievements recorded. Also, there is already an achievement system built in, but not on the scale you are thinking of - the certificate system!

Finally, Eve Online is a PC game, and achievements are usually the style of a console game. There are several recent PC games that do achievements, so this may be a redundant issue, but there is one thing you can rely on in Eve and that is the large number of trolls, haters and bitter vets who will try to tear down your idea. Arm yourself and make sure your sensibilities can take the hate!

Here are a few you may have not thought of:

  • Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Hater - Proportion of contact list which is red/orange
  • Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Lover - Proportion of contact list which is blue
  • Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Warmonger - Number of "War declared by you" notification emails
  • Noob, Apprentice, Adept, Pro, Master, Elite Victim - Number of "War declared on you" notification emails
  • "Chase the pigeon" - 10 or more medals
  • "Patience of a saint" - Trained more than five rank 12+ skills to level 5
