Loyalty points are accumulated by doing missions for agents of one corporation over time. The higher the level the more LP you get per mission, also the higher you effective standing with the agent the more LP you get.

Each corporation has their own pool of rewards for you to choose from and these can be viewed in the LP store previous to doing any missions for that corporation. Also the rewards depend on what kind of corporation. For example the nation corporations give out Navy ships and ship modules as well as skill hardwiring. Most non nation corporations give out implants for both attributes and skills. Pirates give out implants, ships, and ship mods.

Loyalty-points are points you get from an agent, and the corp he/her belongs to, for doing missions as part of the reward. These loyalty points can be traded in for items at that corporations loyalty point store (You will see the store at the right side of your screen when docket at that corporation station - not all stations have loyalty-points store, but many do).

One popular item to get from loyalty-points are implants - you have to pay some ISK in addition to your loyalty-points, but it's cheaper than buying the same item on the market.

Getting implants from LP you're actually loosing out on ISK than buying the implants for buy orders from market. The reason is that the isk/lp ratio for implants isn't very high, so if you were to convert your LP into an item worth a high ammount of ISK per LP, sell those, then buy implants from buy orders on market you would be far better off.

This is a good point…there are many mission runners putting implants on the market which drives the price down nicely for those that don’t do missions. Implants are an easy option if you just want some extra isk from not much effort.

There are always people who will want instant ISK for it and not wait for it to sell, might take a little while but they’ll fill. It’s the same with putting up sell contracts for faction items etc, some people will want them emediatly, others get tired of waiting for buy contract to be filled etc, might take a while but they sell :–)
