What do i need to run class 4 sleeper sites?

Asked by

Currently theres only 4 of us. 3 of us can use marauders (paladins). Would 3 marauders with RR be ok for a class 4?

Otherwise what about 2 marauders + 2 Guardians? Or even 2 apocs for pulse range bonus and the 2 guardians? Would that be sufficient?

Also someone is selling a c4 WH with a rorqual and archon in it.... can the archon tank the sleepers and the 3 of us can go out and dish DPS?

Last question : would 3 proteus and a legion be able to handle it if we went that route? Or would marauders be more viable because of the extra range? (Proteus range sucks) I am looking for the best and fastest way to clear the sites. Can anyone give an example fit, would you want to RR with the t3, or local rep? The WH has a static class 3 also.

Three well-tanked RR marauders should be able to handle it reasonably well, especially if your fourth member was in a Scorp which would serve the dual purpose of drawing aggro and jamming sleepers. The 2-marauder 2-guardian approach would also work though the relatively limited DPS would make it slow, and using apocs instead would be slower still.

Yes, an Archon can tank a c4, but remember that sleepers like to switch targets. Fit local and RR on the Archon if you go that route, but an Archon and 3 marauders could probably chew through c4 sites relatively quickly.

The t3s would be great for C3 sites, local-tanked, but I don't know how well they'd fare in the C4s. Yes they have limited range, but they are also smaller and faster. In any case I think they would probably be slower than some of your other ideas.

Overall, the fastest of the options you've mentioned here would probably be Archon + 3 marauders, especially if the Archon was assigning or just using fighters. Make sure to carry small drones to hose the sleeper frigates, though.

Slightly off-topic, but bear in mind if you buy the wormhole with the Archon in it, barely any anomalies/sites will spawn in it. Most of the sites you run will be in neighbouring wormholes, so a mobile option for clearing these anomalies is best.

When a group of friends and I used to live in a wormhole, we speculated that wormhole systems actually existed in constellations like k-space systems, and there were only a finite amount of sites in each constellation. They'd build up in the unused systems and eventually the inhabited systems would not get any.

Shield RR HML Tengus. They can clear up to Class 5 sites with an RR setup, with no need of logi, range augmentation, speed mods, or anything like that.

So, go with the tengus, 4 minimum (to break the sleepers tank in a Class 4) i mean, is there anything a Tengu can’t do?

The Tengu is no use in a C4 or C5 with shield reducing attributes.

The Loki is also just as flexible, if not more so than the Tengu, the Loki can also Armour tank, the Tengu has the upper hand on weapon range though.

The whole point of the Strategic cruiser is to be customisable to the users needs, although constrained to the strengths of the Race in question. Which is why the Legion only armour tanks and the Tengu only shield.

All the T3’s are great at PVE because you know what you are up against. as long as you are not fighting an enemy that can tank your damage type, ie guristas tank Em well, so you are on the back foot as Amarr, you will be able to get a good fit.

Everyone loves the Tengu, because if you spend a couple of billion on it in faction mods you effectively create a battleship with a cruisers signature. But think if you spent 2 bill on a Rattlesnake you would get the same effect.

Also I lost one of those 2 bill tengu’s once in the Maze 10/10, they are not invincible, just tough.

HAMs on a Legion give you more DPS. Did you try those? I’m interested in their effectiveness.

I initial uesd HAMS on my legion and loved it but what i did not love about it was the range, all my corp mates whould get to the sleepers before me and leave me with hardly anything to shoot
