What is EVEMon?

I keep on hearing about EVEMon--can someone give a good explanation of what I use it for?

EVEMon is a Windows application designed to help EVE Online players track skill training progress using the EVE Online API and plan their skill training path beyond the 24-hour limit of the in-game skill queue.

EVEMon can also assist users by optimizing their skill plans to train most efficiently, and recommends learning skills if they will reduce the training time.

EVEMon can be downloaded from BattleClinic, and is linked in the Useful Software block on the right-hand side of all Skill Training Complete pages.

EveMon is an excellent tool to help build skill plans for your character(s) using the API, as mentioned by EchoD, but there is an alternative.

EveHQ is a tool that allows you to build skill plans in the same way but also build ship fittings, browse items and your assets, browse your kill mails, plan jump routes, find agents, check your mails/orders/factory jobs, get details on wormholes and monitor your POS(s). I'm sure it does more, too. It is the Swiss Army Knife of Eve. You can get it from Battleclinic as well from the Eve Tools section.

Only things it can’t do are the dishes and let you build a ship fitting. But that’s what EFT’s for :P
