What is the best way to get gear into deep, dark nullsec?

Asked by [ Moderator ]

I know of several methods for getting my gear into null-sec: (In no particular order)

  1. Scout(s) with a following industrial/freighter
  2. Blockade Runner (with or without Black Ops jump bridge)
  3. Take only BPCs and build on site
  4. Jump freighter or carrier jump
  5. Titan jump bridge
I've not tried any of these methods except 1) and 2).

Which is the best for "most successful", "cheapest", "quickest", "largest cargo", "least work" and "most profit"?

Largest Cargo: Freighter. Can be Titan jump bridged, but it takes a lot of fuel very expensive. A Jump Freighter has less cargo space but is cheaper in use and can jump further.

Least Work/Quickest/Most successful: For moving ships and small quantities of cargo I find a carrier is the best option. It can carry rigged and assembled ships and a decent amount of cargo in the corporate hangar.

For moving through hostile territory and if you don't have the skills or ISK for a carrier the Blockade Runners are a good option. Pretty safe if you know what you're doing, decent amount of cargo.

I felt let down that the blockade runner can’t even carry a packaged cruiser. It is fine for smaller things, but if you want to get a BC and fittings to a friendly station in a nice ratting spot, with your covops scout ship and some form of PVP ship, you are out of luck.

One method that is cheap, and quick to train is fitting a normal industrial with Nanofiber Structures in the low slots, a cloak, and a MicroWarpdrive. So long as you maintain discipline about not warping directly from gate to gate at zero without a scout... this is very effective. If you warp directly into a bubble, you will still have problems.

The basic concept is that any active module fitted on ship can be turned on before you are fully cloaked. This leaves a 1-2 second window during the "fading away" portion of cloaking to turn on your MWD. This gives a large boost of speed while cloaked for one MWD cycle and then will turn off. After jumping through a gate, align, cloak, then turn on your MWD. The instant the MWD turns off, turn off your cloaking device and initiate warp to the destination you are aligned to.

Why is this useful? To be able to warp a ship needs to be aligned to its target destination, and have a straight line at a velocity of no less than 75% of its current maximum. When you appear on the other side of a gate you are cloaked at a random spot approximately 12-15km from the gate. By instantly cloaking when you align, you appear for only a short time to enemies who would destroy your ship. Turning on the MWD after cloaking does not have the disadvantage of enlarging your signature radius to visible enemies, allowing them to target you faster. The speed boost from the MWD moves you away from the spot where you decloaked for an instant, making it harder for enemies to fly toward that location and decloak you. Once the MWD turns itself off, your current speed will be higher then your maximium current speed meeting the finial requirement to allow you to warp.

Okay, but why the Nanofiber Structures? Nanofiber Structures allow enhanced alignment without a signature radius penalty. They also increase your speed without hurting your available cargohold space. This extra speed helps create added distance between where your ship is and the spot you decloaked by aligning.

While this does require some practice, its cheaper and requires less training then a blockade runner, deep-space transport, carrier, or jump freighter. This technique also remains useful later when you can fly deep space transports.

As great as the cloakwarp trick is, WHs don't care how dark or deep the nullsec in question is. :P

Scan, and eventually you'll find a WH that goes directly to highsec, or goes through more WHs, to highsec. Beware of inhabitants :P

Also, in deep null, people tend to not care if you're looking for WHs, they just want plexies.
