What is the fastest way to raise my security status?

I want to raise my security status above -2.0 again as fast as possible to be able to enter 1.0 systems. What is the most effective (fastest) way of doing this?

The fastest way to increase sec status is to rat in 0.0. You will get approx 0.4% sec increase for every bs killed.

i.e. your sec increase will be (0.4*(10-your sec))/100

You only get a sec increase for the rat with the highest bounty you killed in the last 15 mins per system.

The standard way to raise sec status is to get a gank cruiser/hac with mwd + cloak (vexor, ishtar, cerb, also stealth bomber or af maybe) and find a quite corner of 0.0. Kill a rat, move to the next system and do the same.

If you can find a ring of systems which takes you about 15 mins to get through, killing a single bs rat in each then you are laughing.

Notes:

  • The 15 mins timer is only 10 mins in missions
  • Train Fast Talk to 4 before you even start (5% bonus to sec increases per level)

The fastest way to raise the sec status is to get multiple lvl 4 agents, in multiple low-sec systems (and Hi-Sec when you can access .5 or higher) and (with luck) get missions in three or four systems in a row. Try to get multiple missions in each system with DIFFERENT factions.

Little known fact: You can get multiple sec status increases from different factions (Gurista/Sansha/Angel) w/in the same system in 15 mins if you use this method.

I thought it was total BS myself (having only heard of the highest rat/system/15 mins timer) but it does, apparently work...

That is the way most folks raise their security status. Just as a point of interest, its worth noting that Interbus has a relationship of 9 with CONCORD. This means every 1.0 you raise Interbus, you will raise your CONCORD 0.9 points. CONCORD Faction standing is the same as your security status.

What does this mean for you? Its possible to run lots of courier missions for Interbus and gain security status.

With Interbus, not having any storyline agents, one will find it rather difficult to raise faction standings. Running corp missions will not raise faction standings or assign derivative standings.

I can't speak from personal experience (I'm too much of a goody two shoes) but you need to go ratting in nullsec, destroying as many NPC pirates as possible. If you do it right, you can chain the way the pirates spawn and, if you salvage the wrecks as well as loot them, you will end up with a large amount of ISK.

It is all explained here and more here. Tl;dr: You gain 1 security hit based on the highest bounty NPC you killed, per system, per 15 minutes.
