Living in a WH can net you billions of isk, but it requires a large up-front investment.
Your question isn't totally answerable as there are many "professions" in EVE that can make you a lot of money, and the real answer for you is what you enjoy the most.
Some prefer to macro mine... others prefer to play the market. There's also a lot of money in investing in the "secondary" market of eve.. IPO's and other such endeavors.

1) Scamming, scamming via contracts or market manipulation, Creating a contract for a popular good at highly valuated price and hoping some one acidently clicks the accept button by mistake.
2) Farming Players, Requires a team 5 - 15 raiding wormholes or low sec, Also hitting expensive Faction fitted Player vs Eve Ships.
3) Exploration, Even high sec plexs have the chance of dropping faction items or bpc's worth 5 - 100 million or more.
4) Worm holes, Join a corp in a wh, make lots of isk quickly, Die alot, some where it evens out and you might be lucky to keep ahead of your losses.
5) Running Missions, level 4's grind them again and again. do not underestimate the value of the ship wrecks and the loot there in. vastly higher in value than either the bounties or the mission rewards.
Trading, Slow grind, not unlike mining at times.
Dead Last Mining , but great in groups where you chat and catch up on old times. do paper work, or watch movies.

Passive income related :
- running R&D agents. It takes a bit of work to start them of, but once your set you get isk without doing much ;)
- planetary interaction (in low or null sec). Yet again almost passive incom (use a dedicated alt so you don't have to care being around with your main). 10 days of skill training ;)

Yeah I run 6 agents on my indy alt, 5 on my main and 5 om the third slot. I think it nets around 300m per month if I do nothing with them. I sometimes run the daily mission to double the daily RP intake for that character but since the Storyline nerf, I don’t really bother any more.

The hardest part is collecting them all and hauling them to a market hub. Plus t he risk of being suicide ganked (although I pretend to be afk and pmsl when someone red boxes me… activate DCII, Invulnerability Field II, 10MN AB II).

For a starter missons are great way to make isk , once climb up the level minning / exploration will do
but if you grind missions upto the lvl 5 mission , you can make billions in a day ;)

i agree with roman drakai its kinda impossiable to say what the best way to make money is. id say missioning because thats the thing that drags the most money in for me. 30-100mill a day on level 4's. but different ways of making money may be better for different people. i would say experiment with everything and choose what you think is the best for you.

Trading. You need some money for beginning, and amount of isk you can make tied to your wallet, but it is doable with 200mil easily, which may me turned into few billions in month income. It is rather time consuming, to do all math and maybe hauling stuff around, but more time you want to invest, more it yields. And once you have enough isk and skill to actually influence market and manipulate it, you can make unbelieveable amounts of isk.

Best way to make lots of money fast is to join a 0.0 corp/alliance.
You can make 100-200mill a day running sanctums and belts. Plus if you get a good faction loot drop you can sell these for large amounts of ISK.
if you are an industrial person then 0.0 is also a good option with higher yeilds on ores and PI plus the ability to be able to gas mine.

Some guy in chat claimed that he raked two billions from 10/10s in one day. But told that he almost went insane with sixteen-hour grinding.

Depends on how much isk you already have.
Investing in high value BPOs, or large scale trade operations can net huge profits, but it takes a lot of buffer isk.
If you don't have much isk to begin with, make friends with people running L5 missions, sanctums in 0.0, or high level whs.

The best part of the dirty underside of Eve: make friends with a professional ganker like me, sell your soul (and your sec status) and then turn honest (or not as you like) via trading etc.
If you like fishing and have patience its a hell of a way to make isk. Alternatively you can mission for a good bit with some helpful people who might give you a leg up and get you rolling on the way to building a bankroll to trade with.
