What is Triage Mode?

The triage module goes on a carrier, something like siege mode on a dreadnought. However, what does the triage module actually do when activated? How often do carrier pilots actually fit triage modules onto their ships?

Your tanking ability essentially quadruples, with double bonuses to shield boost/armor repair amount and cycle time. The remote capital repair modules get similar duration and amount bonuses. The carrier starts consuming Strontium Clathrates (same stuff a reinforced pos uses). At the typical Tactical Logistics Reconfig IV, this is 150/hr. The carrier cannot move or warp until the triage module is deactivates (5min/cycle time). You can lock targets much faster, and cannot be jammed.

However, this mode is mostly used to save a reinforced pos. Bring in a lot of stront, feed it to your carrier in triage mode, rep up the pos shields to bring it out of reinforced mode, re-stront the tower etc. Of course, check first to make sure the gang that reinforced your pos in the first place is no longer around.

Triage is the O$h!& button for carrier pilots. Your ability to self rep and repair others are increased dramatically. However you cannot move while in triage, no remote repairers work on you, and you cannot use fighters.

Triage mode usually signals the enevitable doom of a carrier in fleet fights, it can turn the tide of battle though.

Each of the Three standard Capitals types has a re-enforced mode it can enter to boost it's capabilities at the expense of being able to move/escape.

Carriers have Triage mode which as stated dramatically increases the Carriers Defensive and Logistical capabilities. It can not be jammed however it can not be remote repped either, and all worth while offensive capabilities are ceased. Therefore activating this in a fleet fight usually means if the fleet looses you have no escape and once income DPS exceeds your rep ability you're as good as dead.

Dreadnaughts have Siege mode which dramatically increase the Dreads offensive abilities, basically instead of getting bonuses to rep & signature resolution it is penalised here and the bonuses are given to damage output and rate of fire (along with drone bonuses for the morros)

Roquals have Industrial Core mode which basically means it can't move, but can compress ore and basically becomes a miniture mining platform for the miners, I know least about the effects of this mode, however I can assume that it's capabilities are augmented in such away that something given is taken from elsewhere.

It gives a huge bonus to remote rep of the carrier. Carriers are actually a logistics ship on a huge scale. they are meant to heal, not do dmg. Thus, the triage module bonuses that, like a siege module bonuses dmg on a dread.
