What ore is most profitable?

How can I find which ore to mine to make the most ISK?

Grismar's Ore Chart does the ISK/m3 conversion for you. Generally speaking, you mine the same amount of m3 no matter which ore you mine (rounded down to the whole unit of ore), so when you fly into a belt, you want to mine whichever ore you see that has the highest ISK/m3.

Note that this chart uses Jita prices as extracted from the API. If you're selling elsewhere, it may be worth your while to get the prices for the minerals in that market - even slightly above average Mexallon prices or slightly below average Tritanium prices could make Plagioclase worth more than Scordite.

Go ahead and ignore Mercoxite for now - it's the most valuable, but it requires special tools to mine it.

I don’t think Mercoxite ever quite catches ABC for m^3 per miner aynway.

This changes depending on the current market conditions. As MegaThordin says, look at the prices for ore and minerals, work out how much you could sell the various high-sec ores for (it should only take you a few minutes as there will be half a dozen ores or less you could mine) and then you have your definitive answer.

If you want a broader and quicker answer, check out ore income listings such as BSAC's or Cerlestes.

If you want the shortest possible answer - currently Scordite is the most profitable high-sec ore. This will undoubtedly change in due course.

Sites like eve-central.com can tell the buy/sell value of ore and minerals (+ other items in the market). But normally I have a look at the local market, where I'm mining to see what the different prices is. You might have to calculate a bit: CargoSpace / Ore m3 unit = number of ore you can mine in one trip (not counting jet-can mining). Then look at what you get the most for in one mining trip.

As a rule of thumb Scordite and Kernite are the most profitable materials you can mine in secure space (.6 and above). Anything more profitable require putting yourself in the line of fire of pirates.
