Where does eve store screenshots, and how can I change it

Ok here is a quick question : eve seems to be storing some data in documents/eve/

But my screenshots are only as old as july, when I changed my computer and switched to windows seven.

It seems that ever since, eve has not been saving my screenshots (among chat logs and other stuff eve can save here).

How do I know where eve store that data ? Can it be edited in some config file ?

Thanks for you help, sadly that doesn't work that way under windows 7.

/Documents and Settings/ is not accessible for you (even as admin it would seem). After some research on google, it's refered to as a junction point and is used for legacy program interface.

Anyway, I did some research on my own hardrives, and found that for some reason, the "libraries" thing within Windows 7 was a bit confusing. You have a "documents" library, but it ain't the same thing as the "My docs"...

Anyway, your screenshots will be stored in the following folder on window seven :

C:\Users\*you_name*\Documents\EVE\capture\Screenshots

And no it doesn't make much sense to me either...

on my XP machine screens save to to C:\Documents and Settings\ ... \My Documents\EVE\capture\Screenshots

just tried it and verified it.

I am not sure if this location is editable in config

update: this is a little old, 2008, so it may or may not apply to Win7. but per CCP Tanis:

C:\Documents and Settings\MyUsername\My Documents\EVE\capture\Portraits

This location will only store high-resolution portaits that are captured. This means that you intentionally right-clicked a player and selected "get portrait". Just loading up the character portrait in-game will not populate this folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\MyUsername\My Documents\EVE\capture\Screenshots

This is where any screenshots you've taken in EVE should be stored. I have encountered instances where due to driver's, or OS issues the print screen key will not actually take the snapshot as it should. Unfortunately I don't have any solution for that aside from updating drivers.

If you just search "screenshots" from the start menu you will find the folder.

I have installed Eve a few times on same PC and it fluffs the path up a little sometimes but as above it is usually in your "documents" area.

Your overview/fittings and some other bits are stored in the same place, I think it has to do with keeping your unique user settings/info seperate or something like that.

Yes I figured that out long ago, but it’s the windows 7 way to handle it that’s kinda screwed… Anyway I don’t like that habit of programs putting stuff all other the place when everything could be stored within the install directory !

I praise world of warcraft for that part, all data needed is in the wow folder. Copy paste your install someplace else, and you’re good to go !
