I was just wondering why doesn't my EVE graphics look like the awesomeness I see in all the EVE trailers? Even though all my graphics are on the highest settings.

As exeleron said, trailers are typically not generated by a graphics card in real time, but by software which focuses on quality, and takes minutes (or even longer) to generate each frame.
You could improve your graphics quality further by tweaking the settings on your graphics card. Modern drivers often have a simple slider, which balances quality and performance. Drag the slider all the way to the quality side and restart eve in max setting. Hit Crtf-F to check your frame rate. Does it look better to you now?
However, you want your frame rate to be as high as possible during intense activities such as pvp. Who has time to admire the scenery when your ship is on fire?

During PVP when you turn everything on max with lag and the FPS drop, you smell something burning and your ship is on fire…. check it’s not your cpu overheating. What ever they did on the last patch made eve even more hungry than ever.
