Wreck Flipping Retaliation

Scenario:

I'm doing a mission with a corp mate and some one scans us out and warps in. He wants us to aggress him so robs something from one of the wrecks.

Now the complicated bit.

Although we can shoot at him without a security hit as he has stolen from us we're presuming that he is set up for gank, probably with a big buffer tank.
We're presuming that he has his corp mates ready to warp in to help him if we aggress.

Under what circumstances could his corp mates shoot at us without attracting the unwanted attention of Concord.

You can shoot somebody in Hisec without getting concorded only in the following stiuations:

  • You are at war with the target's corp/alliance/militia
  • The target has stolen for your corp's can or wreck (looted, not salvaged)
  • The target has aggressed you (you, not your corp)
  • The target has GCC
  • The target is an outlaw
  • The target has assisted (remote rep/energy transfer) somebody you can shoot.
  • The target is in your corp.

So, if he loots your wreck any member of your corp can shoot him (not his corp) but only he can shoot back. His friends can remote rep him, at which point your corp can shoot them and they can in turn shoot whoever shot them.

The only thing that can flag you to his corp is looting from his can/wreck or repping somebody who did so. (Or being an outlaw or GCC which flags you to everybody, including his corp)

Though, unless you are scheming to bait him somehow it is inadvisable to engage him because a) you have NPC aggro and b) mission ships are very easy to kill.

If you fire on the thief he and his corp members can shoot back without attracting CONCORD. If he jettisons a can with something in it you will also become a legal target if you take from it.

The thief’s corpmates cannot shoot back if you only shoot him but they can rep him.

NEVER engage outside your terms. dont play on theirs... if they steal your can, or whathave you, ask yourself, is it worth it?

Now if youve had enough of this one dude or corp hasslin ya, then fleet up in pvp ships, and set a bait miner out one late night in the common system they enter, and give it to them proper. double up what you think theyll have in fleet and just give it to them. once you show up with an organized, over sized, over tanked, out gunned fleet, thell leave ya alone. doesnt have to be all corp... just gank the f>>K out of them, hire some mercs if you have to (if its worth it for the lols and repect). dont let anyone push you around.

my .02

oh get that on fraps too.... and send me a pm or whatever when you gank them.... i gots respects for the lolz...

You might want to check local for some of his corps mate to make sure... Also please be aware of any "incoming" bunch of people in the system just when you engage. They might come in and repair him, even if they can't shoot you, they can make the fight much harder for you by supporting the guy who aggroed you.
